Minutes of the July 16, 2003 Heldeberg Neighborhood Association Meeting

Don Dugan opened the meeting with a discussion about why some people are moving from the neighborhood.

Don addressed some recent incidents in the neighborhood; a stabbing and a shooting and reports of drug sales. Don urged those with specific information to contact the police. If you see cars that do not belong in the area, get a license plate number, and information that will be useful. Police believe that some of these crimes are related to a Group Home on Ryckman.

The Pizzeria on New Scotland has opened under new ownership.

The HNA is requesting for a Neighborhood patrol. Don urged a residents to contact their elected officials to help acquire improved policing in this area.

Picnic will be help September 17, 2003 and the Mayor has been invited as well as Chief Neilsen. Volunteers are needed to help clean up after the picnic.

Shaun Morris mentioned that there is no specific time frame for the completion of work for the Academy and surrounding roads’ drainage problems.

Jim Sano noted that the Free Tree Program is alive and well. Please contact him for more information about having a tree planted in front of your house.

National Night Out is August 5.
