HNA Picnic Details

Hello neighbors,

We are just a few days away from the annual picnic & potluck and I wanted to share details.
What:  The Annual Picnic & Potluck – celebrating 20 years as a neighborhood association!
When: Sunday August 21st 1 – 4 pm.  Volunteers are asked to come at noon – 12:30 pm
Where:  Good weather?  Sage Campus Lawn at New Scotland Ave & Academy (where movie nights are, bring chairs or blankets to sit on)  Bad weather?  Beth Emeth Congregation at 100 Academy Rd.  The decision on the location will be emailed to the membership, and left on the voice mail greeting (662) 598-1462 on Saturday at Noon.
Who:  You! Please RSVP (if attending) with number of people in your party and the dish you are bringing to share, if you wish. It will help us buy Mayor Sheehan and Council member Cathy Fahey will be attending, too!  RSVP by emailing or calling (662) 598-1462.
It’s all about…
FOOD: We are supplying burgers & hot dogs & lemonade.  Local restaurants are donating ziti, pizza, etc.  Stewarts is donating “Make Your Own Sundae!” kits with 3 different kinds of ice cream and 6 kinds of toppings!  Neighbors also bring their own wonderful foods to share at this potluck event.
FUN: There will be a bounce house for the kids.  We will have great music courtesy of the “Instant String Band”.  People are encouraged to bring soccer balls, kick balls, frisbees and whatever game equipment they like to share with others.  We have a lot of wonderful door prizes from local businesses and individuals we will start giving away at 3 pm – just sign in when you come to the event, and get your raffle ticket!
COMMUNITY:  Visit with neighbors you haven’t seen in a while.  We have new people who have moved into the neighborhood this year and are attending, so please give them a friendly welcome!  Relationships and friendships are a big part of being a thriving community, and we are celebrating 20 years as a neighborhood association!

I am looking forward to seeing you at the picnic!
Thank you,
Eric Huntington
